Do your gums bleed when you brush or floss? Have your gums become sensitive and swollen? If yes, then you might be having gum disease. But you’re not alone! The World Health Organization estimates that over 19% of the global population suffers from gum disease. Unfortunately, gum disease not only indicates poor oral health but can cause various medical complications. Therefore, it is important to understand the reason behind teeth bleeding when cleaning them.

In this blog, we will explain everything you need to know about gum disease, its management, and prevention. So, read on to learn more.

Are Bleeding Gums Normal?

If your gums bleed when you brush them, it is a sign that there is something wrong with your oral health. That is why you shouldn’t consider this condition lightly. According to the American Academy of Periodontology, bleeding from the gums is an early sign of gum disease. Therefore, if you or a loved one has bleeding from gums whenever they brush or floss, they should visit their dentist right away.

What Is The Reason For Gum Bleeding?

According to Healthline, gum bleeding can occur due to various reasons. The foremost reason is underlying gum disease caused by plaque and tartar deposition on the teeth. Another reason for gum bleeding could be the use of excessive force when you brush your teeth. This could result in physical injury to the gums causing bleeding. Vitamin C deficiency is another cause of gum disease, which can cause a condition called scurvy.

Why Am I Experiencing Bleeding Gums Without Brushing?

Bleeding from gums doesn’t always occur while brushing or eating. It can also occur even when they are not stimulated. For example, gum bleeding can occur continuously in advanced gum disease. Moreover, constant bleeding from the gums is also common in people suffering from scurvy. According to the NHS, scurvy is caused by Vitamin C deficiency, and one of its common signs is gum bleeding, swelling, and tenderness.

What Causes My Gums To Bleed At Night?

If your gums only bleed during the night, it could be due to a condition called bruxism. This condition is characterised by excessive teeth grinding during the night or daytime. When one grinds their gums during sleep, it exerts pressure on the teeth and gums. As a result, the biting surfaces of the teeth begin to flatten while the gums start to bleed. In later stages, excessive pressure on the gums can result in chronic gum disease and complications such as tooth loss.

Is Your Gum Disease Over If The Bleeding Stops?

If your gums stop bleeding, does it mean you no longer have gum disease? Not always. If your dentist has performed professional teeth cleaning to remove plaque and tartar deposits, then you may observe cessation in gum bleeding. This is because teeth cleaning will help neutralise the harmful bacteria that cause gum bleeding. On the other hand, if you haven’t sought any treatment for your bleeding gums and they have suddenly stopped bleeding, it isn’t a sign that your gum disease is over. So, gum bleeding should stop after periodontal treatment. However, if it stops without treatment, it means that the disease is still there and you shouldn’t take this condition lightly.

When Should I See A Dentist For Bleeding Gums?

Bleeding from your gums is a sign of poor oral hygiene. The first thing to do in this case is to maintain a strict oral hygiene routine. You should brush your teeth daily with fluoride toothpaste and floss at least once. Moreover, you may consider using a mouthwash for added dental cleaning. However, if these measures don’t stop the bleeding, this means that there is a need for dental treatment and you should visit your dentist right away.

Is Dental Cleaning Good Or Bad?

Dental cleaning is a procedure in which your dentist removes the plaque and tartar deposits on your teeth. They will use an ultrasonic scaler whose tip vibrates at a very high frequency to remove tartar from your teeth. While there is no harm in getting one’s teeth professionally cleaned once or twice a year, it should be done frequently. Moreover, teeth cleaning should not be considered an alternative to regular oral hygiene measures such as brushing and flossing.

Why Does Teeth Cleaning Have To Be Done Twice A Year?

Everyone doesn’t need to have one’s teeth professionally cleaned twice a year. Instead, teeth cleaning once or twice a year is recommended for only those people who are at a high risk of developing gum disease. If you have healthy gums that don’t bleed, you don’t need frequent professional teeth cleaning.

How To Stop My Gums From Bleeding?

The best way to stop your gums from bleeding is to maintain optimal oral hygiene. You can do this by brushing your teeth at least twice a day using a soft toothbrush. You should also use a floss for internal cleaning at least once a day. Moreover, you can ask your dentist to prescribe you a mouthwash which will help in neutralising the disease-causing bacteria and accelerate the healing process. Finally, you should eat a healthy diet rich in essential nutrients. A healthy diet boosts immunity and helps with healing.

Invisalign clear aligners are undoubtedly the most popular orthodontic treatment option in the UK. According to the manufacturers of Invisalign, over 18 million people have benefited from this treatment option to enjoy their dream smiles. If you are also thinking of getting Invisalign to get your teeth straightened, you might be wondering about how it works and what are the Invisalign timelines involved.

The good news is that you have come to the right place! This blog explains everything you need to know about Invisalign treatment, from how it works to how each treatment stage progresses. So, don’t forget to read till the end to get answers to all your questions about Invisalign treatment.

What Is Invisalign, And How Do Invisalign Braces Work?

According to the British Orthodontic Society, Invisalign, also called clear aligners, refers to an orthodontic system which involves wearing removable transparent, tray-like aligners over one’s teeth to realign them. Unlike fixed braces that are bonded to the teeth, Invisalign aligners are removable and you can remove them for eating and oral hygiene maintenance.

What Is The Process Involved In Getting Invisalign Braces?

The process of getting clear aligners is straightforward. During your first appointment, your dentist will perform a detailed clinical examination of your teeth. They will also look at the study models and x-ray images of your teeth to determine the underlying cause. Based on this, they will prepare a treatment plan to straighten your teeth and maximise your facial aesthetics.

Next, your dentist will make digital impressions of your teeth and use special software to design multiple sets of Invisalign trays for you. These trays will be fabricated using 3D printing technology. Your dentist will provide you with multiple sets of numbered aligners to be worn successively. Each aligner set is designed to gradually move your teeth into optimal alignment.

Invisalign Or Braces, Which One Needs More Time And Care?

When it comes to comparison of the treatment time with metal braces or clear aligners, it depends on various factors. Some of these are the extent of the underlying issue, the dentist’s expertise and skill, and the patient’s compliance with the dentist’s instructions.

As regards care, fixed braces require more care as it is more challenging to ensure optimal teeth cleaning with them. On the other hand, Invisalign invisible braces are removable. So, you can simply take them off whenever you want to brush or floss.

Do You Really Have To Wear Invisalign For 22 Hours?

Yes, Invisalign clear aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours a day for optimal results. According to the American Association of Orthodontists, wearing your aligners for at least 22 hours daily is essential to ensure continued tooth movement. Your aligners will move your teeth a fraction of a millimetre at a time. So, if you don’t wear them for the prescribed amount of time, your treatment may be delayed or even reversed.

How Effective Are Invisalign Braces Compared To Wired Ones?

Invisalign clear aligners are an excellent option for treating mild to moderate orthodontic issues such as tooth crowding or spacing. However, the effectiveness of Invisalign treatment is highly dependent on patient compliance. So, one has to adhere to their dentist’s instructions to achieve the desired results.

How Strong Is Invisalign? Does It Last?

Invisalign aligners are made of a transparent, flexible polymer material. This means that these aligners will not break easily. While it may take up to 18 months for your treatment to complete, you are not required to wear each aligner set for that long. Instead, you will be asked to switch to a new aligner set after every two weeks. So, considering that you will have to wear each aligner for about 14 days, they are sufficiently strong and durable.

How Many Months Do Clear Aligners Take To Correct The Teeth?

The time required by clear aligners to straighten misaligned teeth depends on various factors, such as the severity of the underlying issue, the patient’s age, and the dentist’s skill and experience. Typically, mild to moderate orthodontic issues can be treated within 6 – 8 months, while more complex issues may take up to 18 months or longer.

When Should I Start Seeing Invisalign’s Results?

Invisalign aligners start moving your teeth immediately after you wear them. However, it may take 1 – 2 months before you start observing the results. This is because the aligners will move your teeth gradually. So, you won’t be able to see immediate results.

Does Invisalign Work Permanently?

After the completion of your Invisalign clear aligner treatment, your dentist will give you removable or fixed retainers. The purpose of these retainers is to consolidate your treatment and prevent your teeth from going back to their previous position. This means that the results of Invisalign treatment can be reversed if orthodontic retainers are not worn as prescribed.

Do you have swollen, tender gums that bleed when you brush or eat anything? If yes, then you may be suffering from gum disease. But don’t worry, you’re not alone. According to the Adult Oral Health Survey 2021, 1 in every 5 British Adults suffers from gum disease. But here’s the good news. Gum disease is treatable. More importantly, it is completely reversible if diagnosed timely.

So, what is gum disease and how does it affect one’s oral health and physical well-being? We will explain everything in this blog. So, continue reading to learn everything you need to know about gum disease and its management.

How Does Gum Disease Develop?

According to the US National Institute of Dental Craniofacial Research, gum disease refers to a condition in which the tissues supporting your teeth in the jawbones. The starting point of gum disease in virtually all cases is poor oral hygiene.

When one ignores regular oral hygiene measures such as brushing and flossing, it results in the formation of plaque and tartar deposits on the teeth. These plaque and tartar deposits provide an ideal breeding ground for the harmful bacteria, which release toxins that irritate the gum tissues and cause inflammation. When this happens, the gums start to detach from the teeth, resulting in the formation of “pockets”.

At this stage, gum disease is reversible. However, if it is not treated timely, it can lead to significant damage to the jawbones and even tooth loss.

What Are The Symptoms Of Gum Disease?

The typical signs of early-stage gum disease are red, swollen, and tender gums that bleed whenever you brush or eat anything. You will also observe that your gums have receded from their normal position. Some people may also experience bad breath during gum disease. This early-stage inflammation is called gingivitis. However, in the case of long-standing gum disease, there is widespread destruction of the bone tissue making the teeth mobile. Advanced gum disease at this stage is called periodontitis.

What Happens If Gum Disease Is Left Untreated?

As mentioned earlier, gum disease is reversible if diagnosed and treated timely. However, if it is left untreated for a long duration, it can lead to significant jawbone damage. As a result, the teeth become mobile in their socket. Further delay in seeking treatment will make the teeth so mobile that they start falling off.

How Can Gum Disease Affect Your Overall Health?

Did you know that gum disease not only affects our oral health, it can also have a direct influence on our physical health and well-being? For example, the harmful bacteria in the plaque and tartar deposits can travel through the bloodstream or the food to other body organs and cause serious, even life-threatening medical conditions, the so-called oral-systemic link.

If the bacteria enter the heart, it can result in the inflammation of the prosthetic heart valves. Similarly, research has shown that people with poor oral hygiene and gum disease are at a higher risk of developing diabetes. Moreover, the risk of preterm or low birth weight is higher for pregnant women with gum disease than for healthy ones.

How To Avoid Gum Disease?

The good news is that gum disease is preventable. The NHS recommends the following measures to prevent gum disease in the first place:

Oral Hygiene Maintenance – the main factor involved in the development and progression of gum disease is poor oral hygiene. So, by brushing your teeth twice daily using fluoride toothpaste and flossing once every day, you significantly reduce the risk of gum disease

Tooth-friendly Diet – a fibre- and nutrient-rich diet goes a long way in preventing plaque and tartar deposition, and keeping our gums healthy

Regular Dental Checkups – by visiting your dentist regularly, you will ensure that your teeth and gums are healthy, and any underlying issues are diagnosed well before they cause any problems

Can Gum Disease Be Treated Without Surgery?

Early-stage gum disease, also called gingivitis can be treated non-surgically by improving oral hygiene maintenance and dietary care. However, if the disease progresses into an advanced stage, the only option is to treat it surgically through scaling and polishing. The procedure involves using an ultrasonic scaler to remove adherent plaque and tartar deposits from the teeth.

Is Gum Treatment Painful?

You may experience slight pain or discomfort during the surgical treatment of gum disease. However, your dentist will apply a topical anaesthetic agent on your gums so that you remain pain-free during the procedure.

Should I Use Soft Or Hard Bristles With Bleeding Gums?

It is advisable to use a soft-bristled toothbrush for teeth cleaning, particularly when one has gum disease. This is because a hard-bristled toothbrush will irritate your gums resulting in their recession and development of complications such as root sensitivity and decay. The same happens when one applies excessive force while brushing teeth. That is why dentists recommend using a soft toothbrush and using gentle brushing force for oral hygiene maintenance.

Gum disease is preventable and easily treatable if diagnosed early. However, long-standing gum disease can seriously affect one’s oral and physical health, and cause various complications, including tooth loss. That is why it is important to visit your dentist regularly for checkups. If you are looking for a dental practice in Rotherham for the treatment of periodontal disease, your best option is Precision Dental, where we provide all dental services under one roof, at affordable prices. So, join our patient family today and let us take good care of your family’s oral health and smile.

Invisalign clear aligners have become the favourite treatment option among Britishers these days. This is mainly due to their enhanced comfort, convenience, and inconspicuousness compared to traditional braces. According to the manufacturers of Invisalign clear aligners, over 16 million people worldwide have benefitted from this invisible treatment option.

If you’re interested in getting your teeth straightened with clear aligners, you may have several questions about this treatment option. But don’t worry, we have got your back. This blog will answer all your questions related to clear aligner therapy so that you can make an informed decision about Your Treatment.

Will The Cost Of Invisalign Come Down Ever?

Invisalign is a popular orthodontic treatment in the UK. Like other options such as traditional or ceramic braces, the cost of aligner therapy is also high. The average cost of treatment with Invisalign ranges between £2,000 and £5,500, depending on various factors.

But Invisalign is not the only clear aligner option available in the UK. If you search the internet, you will find several brands offering clear aligner therapy at a fraction of the cost of Invisalign. However, you should beware of these as they offer substandard treatment quality and will do more harm than good. So, it is a good idea to consult your dentist for suggestions regarding a good-quality treatment option that is also cost-effective.

Is There A Way To Make Invisalign Cheaper?

Many people are concerned about the cost of Invisalign aligners. But there are ways to manage your treatment costs. For example, you may ask your dentist for cost-effective Invisalign alternatives. Alternatively, there are different types of Invisalign packages that can be used depending on the severity of your underlying issue. Some of these packages are quite cheaper than the standard clear aligners. Your dentist can help you select an aligner package that suits your needs and minimises your treatment costs.

What Is The Cheapest Type Of Invisalign?

As mentioned earlier, there are different brands offering clear aligner therapy. Moreover, you can also choose from several packages offered by Invisalign manufacturers. So, if you have a mild orthodontic issue, you may choose a package suitable for mild cases that also costs less.

I Cannot Afford Braces. What Can I Do?

Orthodontic treatment can be expensive and unaffordable for some people. If you are unable to afford braces or clear aligner treatment, there are ways to manage your treatment costs. First, you can select a clear aligner package that suits your needs and costs less than standard aligner packages. Secondly, you can ask your dentist if they offer flexible treatment plans.

Flexible monthly payment plans are an excellent option for those who cannot afford lump sum payments for their treatment. This way, you can pay for your treatment in small, easily affordable instalments that don’t put a major dent in your finances.

How Much Is Invisalign UK a Month?

Many dental practices in the UK offer flexible payment plans to their customers. This is to facilitate monthly payments instead of paying for the entire treatment on a lump sum basis. But how much is the monthly fee for Invisalign payment? Most dental practices in the UK charge anywhere between £30 and £50 a month for Invisalign treatment on a zero-interest basis. So, it is a good idea to select an orthodontic practice that allows the option of paying for your treatment in monthly instalments.

Can You Pay Monthly For Invisalign?

A significant concern among prospective Invisalign patients is the treatment costs. That is why, one of the first questions prospective patients ask is whether they can pay for their treatment in small instalments. So, the answer is yes. The trend of offering flexible payment plans is popular among dental practices in the UK. This has allowed many patients who could not afford a lump sum payment to afford this treatment by paying small fees monthly.

How Much Does Invisalign® Treatment Cost?

The cost of Invisalign treatment depends on various factors, such as the patient’s age and the severity of their underlying issue. Furthermore, dentist-related factors such as qualifications, experience, and more importantly, location also play a role in determining prices for Invisalign. For example, a general dentist will charge less for the same treatment performed by a specialist orthodontist. In addition, the cost of Invisalign treatment will be higher in metropolitan areas than in the suburbs.

So, one should factor in these cost-related factors before selecting a dental practice for their treatment. It is best to choose a practice that is near to your home or office, has a specialist orthodontist, and offers flexible payment plans.

But why is the dentist’s skill and experience so important? The reason is that the aesthetic and functional outcome of your treatment depends highly on how skilled and experienced your dentist is. If you live in Rotherham and are searching for the best orthodontist in town, you should consider Precision Dental. We provide high-quality treatment to our esteemed patients by highly trained and qualified dentists who can treat even the most complex cases.

Clear aligners have rapidly become the most popular teeth straightening option in the UK. According to the manufacturers of Invisalign, over 15 million people have benefited from this treatment option worldwide. The demand for orthodontic treatment in the UK is so high that over 28% of Britishers are considering, or have undergone teeth straightening treatment.

If you are also considering getting your teeth straightened with clear aligners, your primary concern would be about Invisalign cost in the UK. If yes, then this blog is the right place for you. Continue reading to find out more about the price of Invisalign treatment in the UK and the factors that affect your treatment cost.

How Much Is Invisalign UK A Month

The overall cost of Invisalign treatment in the UK may vary between £2500 and £2900. However, some dental practices offer flexible payment plans, allowing patients to pay for their treatment in easy-to-manage monthly payments, based on a zero-interest-based loan.

Average Cost Of Invisalign UK?

Treatment cost with Invisalign varies depending on various factors, such as the severity of your issue, your age, how well you adhere to your dentist’s instructions, and dentist-related factors, such as the dentist’s qualifications, experience, and their practice’s location. Considering all these factors, the average cost of Invisalign in the UK may vary between £2500 and £2900. Your Invisalign dentist or orthodontist may give you an estimate of your treatment cost after the preparation of an in-depth teeth treatment plan.

What Is The Cheapest Type Of Invisalign?

There are different types of Invisalign aligner-like orthodontic systems available in the market. However, we must keep in mind that Invisalign refers to a clear aligner product, and not the treatment itself. The scientific name of this technology is clear aligner or removable aligner technology. So, the names of commercial aligner products may vary.

Different aligner manufacturers have different prices. You may find very low-cost aligners in the market. However, you should beware of their quality, as most of these general dentistry practices cut their costs by compromising the material quality, which will directly affect your treatment. So, it is advisable to consult a clear aligner dentist when choosing an orthodontic treatment option for yourself or your family.

Invisalign Top Teeth Only Cost UK

If you have a minor aesthetic flaw only in your front teeth such as crowding or spacing, Invisalign allows you to customise the aligners so that they only straighten the front teeth. However, it is highly recommended to get all the teeth straightened for the best aesthetic and oral health-related outcome.

What’s The Best Invisalign Alternative?

As the demand for clear aligners has skyrocketed in the UK, numerous aligner brands have emerged in the market. Besides, there are also other, fixed treatment options available as Invisalign alternatives, such as ceramic or lingual braces.

Is Invisalign Better Than Braces?

Invisalign aligners offer various benefits over fixed braces, such as inconspicuousness, comfort, no dietary restrictions, and ease of oral hygiene maintenance. That is why many patients prefer them for their treatment. However, in some cases, braces are a better-suited option. For example, braces are a better option when treating extreme tooth crowding or spacing, or cases involving the bite. So, if you are looking for comfort and aesthetics, then Invisalign is the best option. On the other hand, if you seek reliability and treatment precision, then braces are more suitable for you.

How Different Are The Prices?

Whether you’re comparing clear aligner prices with braces or the prices of different aligner brands, you will come to know that the prices for different orthodontic treatment options depend mainly on three factors: the underlying issue, the type of treatment, and the dentist’s skill. So yes, there is a lot of difference between the prices of different invisible braces, ranging between £2500 and £5000.

What Disadvantages Does Invisalign Pose?

While Invisalign has many advantages, it also has a few drawbacks as well. For example, the speed of treatment mainly depends on patient compliance, So, if someone does not wear their aligners as per the dentist’s instructions, their treatment will be prolonged. Another drawback is that these aligners may not be suitable for patients who are forgetful and keep misplacing their aligners.

How Much Should An Invisalign Retainer Cost?

After the completion of your treatment with Invisalign, your dentist will give you Invisalign retainers. The purpose of these retainers is to prevent your teeth from moving back and preserving your new smile. The average cost of Invisalign aligners is £150 per set.

Does Invisalign Cost More Than Teeth Implants?

The average cost of a single-tooth implant and clear aligners is the same. However, please bear in mind that Invisalign and implants are entirely different treatment options. Dental implants are cylinder-shaped metallic posts that are inserted into the jawbone to replace missing teeth. On the other hand, Invisalign aligners are used for straightening existing natural teeth. So, there is no comparison between these two treatment options. Orthodontic treatment requires a combination of mastery of dental skills and a keen eye for aesthetics. Therefore, it is advisable to visit an experienced orthodontist when seeking invisible braces treatment. If you are looking for the best orthodontist in Rotherham, your best option is Precision Dentacare. We offer all dental services at affordable prices, under one roof. If you want to know about Invisalign treatment, we encourage you to request a consultation with one of our dentists.
Everyone wants to have straight, perfectly aligned teeth that make them look beautiful. Unfortunately, some people cannot fulfill this dream due to their misaligned and crooked teeth. If you are also among those people who feel underconfident due to their crooked teeth, there is no need to worry. Rotherham Invisalign treatment is one of the most convenient, comfortable, and inconspicuous options for straightening misaligned teeth.

First things first, let us understand what Invisalign is. According to the British Orthodontic Society, Invisalign, also called clear aligners, is an orthodontic system comprising removable aligners made of a transparent and flexible material. These aligners will exert gentle pressure on your teeth to move them in the desired direction. Being transparent, they are virtually invisible when worn. Besides, their comfortable and flexible polymeric material makes Invisalign aligners hassle-free and convenient to use.

So, are you ready to transform your smile with Invisalign clear aligners? Continue reading to learn more about Invisalign therapy and how you can benefit from it.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

If you want to know more about Invisalign’s cost, then you are at the right place. The first thing to understand is that Invisalign cost depends on various factors, such as the patient’s age and the severity of the underlying issue, the dental practice’s location, and the dentist’s experience and qualifications. But more importantly, it also depends on compliance. For example, if someone doesn’t wear their aligners for the prescribed duration, their treatment will be prolonged, and ultimately, they will have to pay more for their treatment.

However, the national average cost of Invisalign, according to the Consumer Guide for Dentistry, varies between ￡3000 – ￡5500. Your orthodontist can give you an estimate of your treatment costs after performing a thorough clinical examination and treatment planning.

Is Invisalign Really Better Than Braces?

Like all dental treatment options, Invisalign has its own merits and demerits. But if you compare traditional fixed or invisible braces (lingual) braces with Invisalign, here are some of its positive points:

Inconspicuous – Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible when worn. So, you can easily wear them to any meeting, gathering, and even a job interview without affecting your smile and appearance.

Comfortable – Invisalign invisible braces are much more comfortable to wear than traditional metal braces as they are made of a flexible polymer.

No Food Restriction – Invisalign aligners are removable. So, you can easily take them off whenever you need to eat or drink anything.

Optimal Oral Hygiene – since Invisalign aligners are removable, you can take them off for brushing and flossing. So, Invisalign aligners allow you to maintain optimal oral hygiene.

So yes, if you consider aesthetics, comfort, convenience, and oral hygiene, Invisalign aligners are better than braces.

Do You Really Have To Wear Invisalign For 22 Hours?

Dental experts recommend wearing your aligners for the maximum duration each day to get the most out of your treatment. According to Healthline, Invisalign aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours each day to achieve maximum benefit. This is because your teeth will only move once you’re wearing the aligners. So, the longer you wear them, the faster your teeth will move into optimal occlusion and alignment. So yes, Invisalign aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours daily.

How Many Rounds Of Invisalign Is Normal?

The Invisalign aligner system depends on sets of numbered aligners that move one’s teeth in the desired direction. The number of aligners or the number of “rounds” you need for your treatment mainly depends on the severity of the underlying issue. Mild to moderate orthodontic issues, such as crowding or spacing, can be fixed with 25 – 30 aligner set trays. On the other hand, more complex issues may require up to 5o trays until the treatment is complete.

Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign aligners have become one of the most sought-after options for teeth straightening. This is because of the several advantages they offer over conventional metal braces. More importantly, Invisalign aligners can effectively move teeth and realign them. So yes, Invisalign aligners do work for most orthodontic cases. However, in the case of complicated orthodontic issues, fixed braces may have to be used.

Does Invisalign Help Gummy Smiles?

A gummy smile can occur due to various reasons. It may be possible to fix some cases of a gummy smile with clear aligners. However, sometimes, braces are a better option. Besides, if the gummy smile is due to the overgrowth of the gums and not because of the intrusion of the teeth, then the best option is to perform a gum recontouring surgery. This procedure involves surgically removing excessive gum tissues and recontouring them to improve facial aesthetics.

Do Orthodontists Prefer Braces Or Invisalign?

The choice of using Invisalign or metal braces by specialist orthodontists depends on various factors. For example, it depends on the type and severity of the issue; more complex issues are better treated with fixed braces. Similarly, it also depends on the dentist’s preference and, more importantly, the patient’s choice of treatment. So, your dentist will decide which type of treatment is suitable after extensive treatment planning involving a clinical examination and studying the 3D images of your teeth.

When seeking orthodontic treatment, it is imperative to visit an experienced and qualified dentist. If you are looking for the best orthodontist in Rotherham, Precision Dental Care is at your service. We offer high-quality orthodontic and general dentistry services to our esteemed patients in a relaxing and comforting environment. So, request a free consultation with us today and take your first step towards a beautiful, healthy, and lasting smile.

As parents, we look after our children’s every need – from their education to their health – their happiness always being our top priority. However, one of the most crucial health-related aspects we as parents often miss is our children’s dental health. Unfortunately, many parents believe that since a child’s milk teeth are only temporary, they are not as important as their permanent successors. The fact is that this is a very dangerous assumption. Milk teeth are equally important as permanent ones. That is why parents must bring their kids to the dentist to ensure that their primary teeth are healthy and cavity-free.

If you recently moved to Rotherham or are looking for a new kids’ dentist, this blog is for you. This blog will explain everything you need to know about finding the best dentist for your children in the Rotherham area. So, continue reading to learn what to look for in a paediatric dentist.

How To Find A Dentist For My Child?

Many parents find it challenging to look for a kids’ dentist. But don’t worry; here are some tips that will help make this task easier for you.

First, search the internet for kids’ dentists in your area and make a list. Next, shortlist 4-5 based on the services and the dentist’s qualifications. You should visit each of these practices and meet the dentist. You should check whether the dental office is suitable for treating kids and provides a comfortable, relaxing environment for their treatment. Finally, you should go with a paediatric dental practice your child feels the most comfortable with.

What Do You Look For In A Pediatric Dentist?

There are three main things one must consider while selecting a kids’ dentist:

Qualification – Ideally, a kids’ dentist should have obtained an additional qualification in paediatric dentistry.

Experience – The more experienced a paediatric dentist is, the higher the quality of their treatment.

Attitude – A paediatric dentist should be friendly and make the kids feel safe and comfortable.

How To Choose A Children’s Dentist?

There are several factors parents must consider while choosing a paediatric dentist, such as the dentist’s location (ideally, should be near to home, office, or kid’s school), their experience and qualifications, patient rating and most importantly, whether they accept your insurance plan or offer flexible treatment plans.

How To Prepare Your Child For Their First Visit To The Dentist?

Your child’s first visit to their dentist is very crucial. It will form the basis of how they perceive dental treatment through the years to come. So, parents should tell their children that the dentist will only look at their teeth during the first visit to ensure they remain pearly white and cavity-free. The child must understand that regular dental visits are essential to keep them healthy and fit and that these visits will not be painful.

How Often Does My Child Need To See The Pediatric Dentist?

Typically, parents should bring their kids for a paediatric dental checkup after every six months. However, if a dentist observes that a child is at risk of developing cavities, they may increase the frequency of visits to four times a year. Similarly, if a child has excellent dental health, they may need to see the dentist only once a year. It all depends on your child’s dental health status.

Why Is Having A Kid’s Dentist Important?

A kids’ dentist ensures that your kid’s teeth remain strong, healthy, and cavity-free. Moreover, your child’s milk teeth are placeholders for their permanent successors. If a milk tooth is lost prematurely, the neighbouring teeth creep into the vacant space, forcing the underlying permanent tooth to erupt irregularly. Your child’s dentist will keep track of your child’s tooth eruption timetable. If a tooth is lost prematurely, they place a placeholder to ensure the underlying tooth comes out normally. Finally, kids’ dentists help children learn good dental habits that remain with them throughout life. So, it is very important to bring your kids to a paediatric dentist regularly.

Why Should You Regularly Take Your Kids To A Dentist?

Taking your kids to the dentist regularly has many advantages. For example, the dentist will detect developing dental issues during routine checkups and treat them before they cause permanent damage or require expensive treatment, saving your hard-earned money and time. Secondly, the dentist will closely monitor your child’s oral health and give necessary dietary or oral health-related instructions wherever needed. The good dental habits your child will learn during their early years will remain with you throughout life.

What Dental Clinic Is Best For Children?

Finding the best children’s dental practice in Rotherham may be challenging, but it isn’t impossible. Rotherham’s best paediatric dental office should have a highly experienced and qualified dentist with a proven track record of treating paediatric dental issues. The ideal practice should have a purpose-built waiting room and operatory to make the kids comfortable. Most importantly, the practice should have a gentle-dental team that is trained to look after kids and allay their fears. Finally, you should select a practice that accepts your family’s dental insurance plan or, alternatively, offers flexible treatment plans.

If you are looking for the best kids’ dental practice in Rotherham, your best option is Precision Dental.

We take so much care of our physical health; we try to eat a healthy and balanced diet, exercise daily and visit our physician regularly to ensure that we remain fit and enjoy an active lifestyle. Unfortunately, not many of us do the same for our dental health. Did you know that our dental health is equally important as our physical health? According to the American Dental Association, our physical health is directly linked to our oral health – the so-called oral-systemic link.

That is why looking after our dental health is essential, just like we do for our physical health. How to do that? By ensuring optimal oral hygiene through brushing and flossing. More importantly, one should visit their dentist regularly for checkups so that underlying issues can be diagnosed timely and treated before they require expensive and time-consuming treatment.

This is where family dentistry comes in. Just like a family physician who looks after your entire family’s health, you must also have a family dentist who ensures that you and your kids have pearly white teeth and healthy gums.

But what is a family dentist, and how can they help you enjoy good dental health? Read this article to find out!

What Is A Family Dentist?

A family dentist is a general dental physician who will take care of your entire family’s dental issues, from teeth cavities to gum disease and oral health education. So, a family dentist is your go-to dental professional who will not only ensure that you remain free of dental problems and enjoy excellent oral health.

What Kind Of Dental Care Does A Family Dentistry Offer?

Family Dentistry offers all-around dental services. For example, when you visit your family dentist regularly, they will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums to identify any underlying issues. A family dentist will also keep track of your family’s oral health and take preventive measures to ensure they remain healthy. For example, if your child is prone to tooth cavities, they may consider dental sealants or fluoride therapy. Similarly, they may give dietary advice to your family members if they have a higher risk of developing tooth decay or other dental issues. So, a family dentist is your first line of defence against dental problems.

What Primary Advantages Can Family Dentists Offer?

If you’re still wondering why you should consider visiting a family dental practice, here are some advantages family dental practices offer that will help you decide:

Preventive Dentistry – the focus of family dentistry is to diagnose dental issues well before they cause permanent damage or require treatment. So, by visiting a family dental practice, you can rest assured your entire family remains free of dental problems and enjoy a beautiful and lasting smile.

Cost- and Time-saving – a family dentist will look after your entire family’s dental health. This way, you don’t have to take them to separate practices for checkups, thereby saving your hard-earned time and money.

Personalised Care – a family dentist will keep long-term track of your family’s dental health. Therefore, they will provide personalised dental treatment and care to your family by serving as a family dental physician.

Why Is Family Dentistry Important For Oral Health?

As discussed earlier, your physical health and well-being are directly linked to your oral health. This is because anything you eat or drink passes through the mouth. If the mouth is diseased, the harmful germs can travel through the food or bloodstream to other body organs, causing serious, even life-threatening diseases. For example, if the harmful bacteria in diseased gums enter the heart through blood, they can cause an inflammation of the prosthetic heart valves.

A family dentist will prevent all these issues by monitoring your family’s dental health. So, when you have healthy teeth and gums, you don’t have to worry about systemic illnesses caused by dental problems.

How Do I Find A Family Dentist Near Me?

Now that you know the importance of visiting a family dentist, the next question is how to find the best family dentist “near me”. First, you should search the internet for family dental practices in your area and make a list. Then, you should visit these practices and meet the dental team. You should enquire about the dentist’s qualifications and experience, and the range of services offered. Finally, you should go with a practice you feel the most comfortable with.

How Much Does A Family Dentist Cost?

You might be thinking that a family dentist will be expensive. But consider this; Would you rather pay the fee of the dentist and save yourself from dental problems, or would you prefer paying heavy treatment fees after a dental problem arises? If you are a new customer, a family dentist may charge you around £65 and £45 in consultation fees for existing customers. So, it is a small price to pay for your family’s dental health.

If you have recently moved to Rotherham or considering switching your family dentist, Precision Dental is the best place to visit. We offer the best dental services to our esteemed customers at affordable rates. We have a team of highly experienced and qualified dental professionals who will take care of your entire family’s dental health.

How will life as a Rotherham Dentist change after the pandemic?

There are certainly some major changes in being a Rotherham Dentist coming up on the horizon in terms of patient care in the Dental Care setting. Perhaps the most important one is adapting to new social distancing rules. Before we even discuss the patient/dentist interaction, we are intending to ensure that patient contact with other patients will be strictly limited. We will do this by staggering appointment times carefully. We will also create contact procedures to advise when a patient can safely enter the building. This will ensure that patient contact will be limited to our team only.

What about Safety checks?

Temperature checks will be made for every patient on arrival and questions asked to determine the current Covid -19 risk. If all is well, we can proceed with the appointment. Incidentally, all team members will have similar testing daily to ensure patient safety.

What will the procedures be like at this Rotherham Dentist?

Clearly, the Rotherham Dentist/Patient interaction is closer than the recommended 2 metres distance. Because of this, we will be following the NHS England Standard Operating Procedures regarding PPE. Also pre-treatment mouthrinsing with a peroxide based mouthwash. In addition, we can use a dental dam to isolate a tooth before we work, reducing any aerosol from the procedure. Following the appointment, we allow any aerosol to settle for 15 minutes before a thorough clean down. This includes the entire surgery and any surfaces that may have been touched. This is designed to maximise safety for patients and all the Dental Team.

Precision Dental in Rotherham

We take patient safety incredibly seriously so please bear with us in the early stages of post-lockdown return to work. The aim is to return to normality as quickly as possible. I look forward to seeing you again really soon!

Take care,
