Sarah Lou is getting married on 27th May 2017 and we are delighted to share her Six Month Smile Journey with you. From the age of 15 Sarah lacked confidence with her smile, what better gift could she gift to herself for her big day than a smile she absolutely loves and is proud of.
From the age of about 15 I became very conscious with my smile, my 2 front teeth crossed over and I had another tooth that was set quite far back. I used to smile with my mouth closed all the time and I had a couple of negative comments while out with my friends and it really blew my confidence!!
Fast forward to 2015 when my partner Steve proposed to me and I knew straight away my gift to myself would be a new smile so I could beam with pride and confidence on my wedding day!!!
The brace had really good reviews and suggestions online! I loved the idea that the brace would only be on for a few months and the colour blended with my teeth to make it hardly noticeable. I also thought the price was reasonable for the desired results!
What made you choose Precision Dental?
I looked online at a few dentists and noticed that Precision had really good reviews on their Facebook page. I gave them a call and spoke to Elaine who was fantastic with supporting me in making the decision to come for a free consultation.
I had my brace on for around 8 months. A few days after my brace was fitted a couple of my brackets came loose but Stephen fitted me straight in and I had them put back on straight away. I had a sore mouth for around 10 days but this was eased with the wax! (The wax was my life saver) I avoided hard foods such as crusty bread and my favourite crisps but it did wonders for the waistline! I found my speech no different and after a few days I totally forgot it was there! I didn’t have to change anything other than to take care with eating and I began to brush my teeth after every meal (this was a great habit to get into as I do it religiously when I can now!)
Wearing the retainer after treatment is very important Sarah, how do you get on with yours?
My retainer is fine. My first one broke but I had a stronger one made and I’ve had no problems since. I sleep in it every night and use it to top up my whitening! It’s part of my nightly routine now (makeup off, teeth brushed, retainers in!! Hehe).
I have so much confidence and I love to smile! So many people have commented on my smile and how it’s changed my appearance.
It really has been life changing and I cannot wait to smile on my wedding day on the 27th May!
I would recommend Six Month Smiles at Precision Dental to anyone!
Thanks Sarah, we look forward to seeing your Wedding Photos! have a great day!
